昨日から、南相馬市でのワークショップが始まりました。 最終的に15名ほどの方に来て頂いています。 ありがとうございます！ インターネット環境の都合で、あまり詳しく報告できませんが、東京に戻ったら詳しく書きます。 yesterday we have begann workshop in Minamisoma! now we can't use internet enough. if we come back to Tokyo, we will write so much thing!

プロジェクトＧとグリム

寺尾です。

プロジェクトＧのＧは、ドイツ語で幸福を意味するGlückですが、同時にグリム兄弟のＧでもあります。
言葉も文化も異なる私達が対話するための一つの手がかりとして、グリム童話を素材として選びました。もとは同じでも、異なる文化環境においてどのように違った受け取られ方をするのか、それを考えることは、私達にとって互いの差異を意識するための手段なのです。

東京に滞在中、色々な場所でグリムのメルヘンを朗読して、その様子を記録してみるつもりです。

Tokio - Eine Stadt der Gegensätze

Nao und Ehito leben in Komagome, einem sehr schönen, untouristischen Viertel mit vielen kleinen Häusern und einer ganz lebendigen Geschäftsstraße.

Das Tokio eine Stadt mit 13 Millionen Einwohnern ist, spürt man erst, beim Blick auf die scheinbar nicht endende Stadtkulisse.

 

In den letzten beiden Tagen haben wir zwei der größten Vergnügungsviertel Tokios besucht - Akihabara und Shibuya: Leuchtreklamen, Videoleinwände, Musik, Maids, Karaoke, Love Hotels, Shoppings Malls, Animee, Mangas - es gibt einfach alles und ganz viel davon und alles ist laut, bunt und sehr lebendig.

Maids in Akaihabara - Maid Cafés sind Cafés, in denen vorwiegend Männern von jungen Mädchen in Uniformen bedient werden.

Hier kann man sich ein Zimmer mieten, um Karaoke-Singen zu üben. Eine halbe Stunde kostet knapp 2 Euro.

Love-Hotel in Shibuya: Da das Zusammenleben in Tokio auf sehr engem Raum stattfindet, ist es nicht unüblich sich für 2-3 Stunden bzw. für eine leidenschaftliche Nacht ein Hotelzimmer zu mieten.

KABUKI

Yesterday we started by fulfilling one of my childhood dreams: seeing Kabuki theatre in Japan. Ever since I first learned about Noh, Kabuki, and Bunraku theatre styles in my junior high theatre class when I was 11 years old, I have been fascinated by the masks, costumes, traditions and incredibly exacting physicality of these art forms.

I can happily report that seeing the real thing vastly exceeded all of my wildest expectations. Here's our own little troupe on our way in:

Here's a little info about Kabuki, if you're interested. The story we say, Shunkan was about a Buddhist priest who is exiled with two compatriots to an island after plotting to kill the wicked king. After living on the island for many years on the island in utter deprivation, the king declares a general pardon and send a boat to the island to retrieve the penitents. But Shunkan, after finding out that his beloved wife has killed herself in the imperial capitol, decides to remain on the island as a symbol of ultimate self-sacrifice. The final moment of the play consisted of Shunkan alone on the island (as the stage turned and shifted around him; AMAZING technical stage tricks!) and he gave a final scream of tragic loss before becoming silent and posing at the top of a cliff, surrounded by the sea.

By far the coolest part of this stunning performance was the tradition of audience members yelling out the performer's stage name during especially touching/passionate/powerfully-acted moment of the piece. So Shunkan would nail a particularly poignant line, and from different parts of the house patrons would yell out: "Narikomaya!!!!!"

It was totally surprising and bracing and FANTASTIC! Imagine if during the To Be or Not to Be speech in Hamlet, audience members would shout the actor's name after he spoke a line well. It made it feel like a mixture between a sporting event and an opera, the 'bravo's" replaced with the actor's name. So cool.

Afterward, high on the experience, we took a stroll through the gallery on the third floor to check out the famous Kabuki actors of yore. Many of them are born into famous acting families, and take the names of their forefathers, hence Nakamura the 11th and such. Here's another glimpse:

歌舞伎鑑賞教室に行ってきました！

ブログ初登場、６．５／ｗ（ロクテンゴパーウィーク）の坂田尚です！

昨日６／２４は、みんなで歌舞伎鑑賞教室に行ってきました。
演目は『俊寛』です。

意外がられるのですが、私は歌舞伎鑑賞教室をとても評価していて、海外の知人や、日本人でも歌舞伎を見たことがない人には、なるべく歌舞伎鑑賞教室をすすめています。そして、その際はイヤホンガイドを使うようにもすすめています。

もちろん、芸術に言葉や説明はいらないとも言われますが、同時に内容を理解し、ある程度事前に知識を持った上で楽しめる部分があるのもまた事実だと思うからです。

アネリーもブライアンも始めの歌舞伎のみかたからとても興味深そうに観ていて、また上演が始まってからも、事前の説明やイヤホンを元に、たくさんメモを取っていました。

（国内外問わず）異文化と触れ合うときに、まずは導入・説明に手間をかける、ということが如何に大事かということを改めて感じました。

Party auf Japanisch

Party heißt auf japanisch, dass man sich mit anderen Menschen trifft, gemeinsam isst und sich unterhält. Es ist nicht ganz das, was man in Europa und Amerika unter dem Begriff versteht, aber es macht großen Spaß.
Wir haben unglaublich spannende Menschen kennengelernt und eine neue Idee für eine kleine Performance in Tokio entwickelt, die voraussichtlich am 4.7. in Komagome, dem Stadtteil in dem Ehito und Nao leben, stattfinden wird.

Neben unserem heutigen Treffpunkt befindet sich ein deutsches Restaurant mit dem passenden Namen:

Morgen besuchen wir eine Kabuki Theater Aufführung.
Es ist bereits nach Mitternacht in Japan, deshalb morgen mehr aus Tokio...

オープニングパーティ（の準備中）です

昨日ブライアンが書いてくれましたが、東京での共同生活がいよいよ始まりました。
そして今夜は18時からネコワーキングでオープニングパーティです。
料理持ち寄り制なので、今はみんなでそれぞれ料理を作っています。

何ができるかは、お楽しみ。

東京 Tōkyō

 Tokyo! Tokyo! We're here! It's happening! After almost 30 hours of travel (one for each year. Hey-oh!) I arrived at Narita airport, tired, bleary-eyed and about as excited as any 30 year old has ever been to be exploring the Land of the Rising Sun. I've had a culture-crush on Japan since I was about ten years old, and now I'm actually here. Unbelievable.

Annelie arrived a few hours later and we had no trouble rendezvousing in a quaint little tea shop in the airport, where Ehito picked us up. Then it was zipping in on the commuter train through rice paddies and quaint villages in the countryside, across two rivers and finally into the endless maze of buildings that continues to thicken and resolve into Tokyo proper.

But enough words, below you'll find some first impressions of our first day on the ground here in Tokyo.

Der Marburger Froschkönig unterwegs

Nur noch zwei Tage bis zum Abflug...

Heute nachmittag habe ich vom Fachdienstleiter Kultur der Stadt Marburg Herrn Dr. Laufner vier Marburger Froschkönige überreicht bekommen, die am Donnerstag mit mir nach Tokio reisen werden. Seit Anfang des Jahres reisen die Froschkönige um die Welt.
