Asakusa

Last week we took a break from the hectic streets of central Tokyo to check out Asakusa, a beautiful tempel with Torii gates and pagodas galore. Along the way we met some ladies in Kimonos (Gross und Klein #3!)

And got to see some beautiful architecture:

One of the highlights for me was a group of Japanese students (junior high age) who were doing an assignment for their English class. The assignment was to find some native English speakers and talk to them. So they found me (go figure) and we spoke with them a bit, then they had me write a message in their workbook as proof that they actually met a real-live English speaker. They were adorable

Dialogue! Cultural Exchange! Buddhist Temples! Japan!
